On their latest album I Am The West Portland, Oregon based music troupe Lovers have reinvented themselves as an exciting new incarnation, with a modern, sexy, often danceable edge.

Since 2001 songwriter Carolyn Berk has established her unique voice under the Lovers moniker with three acclaimed, haunted, heart-broken releases (Starlit Sunken Ship, The Gutter and the Garden, Sleep With Heat). Berk’s latest creative exploration maintains the previous records’ characteristically visceral honesty, but her collaboration with pop-obsessed multi-instrumentalist producer Suny Lyons realizes Lovers’ potential outside the realm of tender introspection.

The addition of video/performance artist Kerby Ferris and multi-talented guitarist Emily Kingan focuses three wildly ambitious and boldly sincere artists on hooky beats, interactive performance, and a promise to engage and challenge mainstream and indie audiences alike.
