A new, and unusual, music series held every Monday from 11:54am-12:08pm in the EMU.

Indian Classical Music is one of the oldest musical traditions on the planet. Raga is a melodic architecture that conveys profound emotional colors that unfold over a non-rhythmic section called an Alap and over rhythmic cycles called Tala. The Trumpet has rarely been used to express this ancient music. Enjoy an extended Alap on the popular Raga with Aaron Shragge [trumpet] and Doug Scheuerell [tabla].

Founded by UO professor Brian McWhorter, the Sound-Bytes series is recognized as one of the foremost venues for new, creative and experimental music on the West Coast.
